This beautifully appointed, recently renovated, historic Lake Placid home is the perfect place for you and your group to gather and make memories. This home was originally owned by the family who founded and operated the “North Pole Santa’s Workshop.” In tribute to them and the ‘spirit’ they have shared with so many through the years, the home is now known as The Claus Family Lodge. This home has character like no other. Artisanship and architecture found only in Lake Placid in the 1940s has been modernized and is now available for all to enjoy. The living area exhibits picturesque windows with views of White Face Mountain and the famous Olympic village of Lake Placid. In addition, the house is only a 10-minute walk to Mirror Lake and the village with all its shops, a movie theater, and internationally renowned restaurants.
For outdoor fun, Claus Family Lodge is equipped with an expansive (20×40) Volleyball /Badminton play area with a well-maintained sand court. There is an additional lot with a children’s playground, which includes horseshoes and much more. What would an amazing backyard be without a large BBQ gas grill which includes a tank of gas for your convenience! This home also features a large fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs where you can enjoy roasting marshmallows and making smores while recapping your day’s adventures. And, last but not least, this beautiful property features a 6-person hot tub where you can truly relax. Our hot tubs are sanitized prior to each guest’s arrival.
Inside there are new amenities including a foosball table, ping pong table, and two 80-inch smart TVs for your entertainment. This luxurious home offers a total of three fireplaces and seven bedrooms, comfortably accommodating up to sixteen guests. The family room has gorgeous original barn wood walls, a wet bar, heated floors, a fireplace, and furniture that is extremely cozy and inviting. The hot tub is easily accessible from the sliding glass doors. The kitchen has been upgraded with brand new appliances, two ice makers, two refrigerators, a double sink, and beautiful Carrara Granite countertops. To make your stay more convenient, the kitchen has been fully stocked with pots, pans, toaster oven, fondue maker, blender, mixer, and Oneida silverware to complement the Mikasa Calder red dish setting for 26. The dining room has two 106-inch tables and close by is a 54-inch round table which could easily be used to serve meals or to play cards or games while meals are being prepared. This home is the perfect setting for hosting a special family gathering, a holiday celebration, or maybe reconnecting with old college friends!
Around the corner from the kitchen is the living room with a comfy curved sofa, marble fireplace, and beautiful large windows with views of Whiteface Mountain and Lake Placid. The bedrooms each offer a pillow top king bed, with 1000 thread count sheets to pamper you while you rest. The master bedroom has a king pillow top with two single pullout sleeper sofas. Bedrooms two and three both have king pillow tops. The upstairs offers two bathrooms, one king bed, one queen bed, and three sets of bunk beds, complete with high-quality linens.
The downstairs game room is full of leather sleeper sofas, an 80-inch TV, a ping pong table, foosball, and dart board. There is another bedroom that offers additional sleeping and a downstairs full bath. The carpets are plush, and the environment is inviting. We strive for quality in hopes that all our guests have an exceptional stay. We want to provide you with a hassle-free experience. This home has a full-sized washer and dryer for your convenience. There is plenty of space for storage as well.

Per property and casualty Insurance and local zoning and code recommendations, security cameras are above exit doors only. These are in plain sight and can be disabled by the guest’s request upon check in. There is absolutely no camera or monitoring of any kind inside this home. The property is also equipped with an outdoor noise monitoring device. This device simply monitors decibel levels. If things get too noisy outside, it will notify us. Be the best neighbor possible!
